Weekend Report 4

From July 25 to July 29.

   

This week gave me a lot of experience from teachers, school and from the students. There are a lot of things to learn on this week. On this week school decided to conduct a unit test for the high school students. Every last week of the month,the school conduct a unit test for the students. On this week we have the opportunity to conduct the unit test.

On the first day of this week, that is on July 25, I have only one period to teach And I got two substitution periods for 8 standard students. I gave them maths and English puzzles to solve. They actively participated in the game. After the noon there was a quiz programme conducted by the science teachers of the school in connection with the moon day. 

Students from various classes participated in the quiz.

 Teachers also invited us to join the quiz. Students need to be controlled and managed. So we also participated on the quiz. Lakshmi Deepa from 9 E and gouri Nanda from 10 F got first and second prize respectively on the quiz. The awards and prizes for them will be distributed on the school assembly conducted on next week. The experience from the quiz programme was valuable.

On the second day of the week,that is on July 26, I got only one period to teach And one substitution period for 8 C students. We, the trainees have to take the exam duties during the second and seventh period of all days of this week. Students were difficult to control and manage. But it is the duty of a teacher to manage them. On this day,our arts teacher from the college visited us for observation. I tried my best on the class and the students responded actively. Their participation on the class gave me inspiration to teach. 

On the third day of this week, that is on July 27, I got only one period to teach and a substitution period for 8 G students. I gave them dictation on English, as it was a substitution class for English. I too got exam duty for 9 C students. My colleague Maya helped me on the duty. Teachers of the school gave us proper instructions regarding the duty. It was a good experience that we learnt how to conduct an exam on the school. We also got the opportunity to prepare the question papers of our subjects. 

On the fourth day of this week, that is on July 28, due to 'karkkadakavaavu' there was no classes. It was a holiday.

On the fifth day of this week, that is on July 29, I got one period to teach. And there was exam duty for us on second and seventh period. Our principal from our college visited us for observation. But on the time she arrived we went to exam duties and she checked our records and teaching aids and gave suggestions for improvement. 

After the noon, students of nineth standard have physical education class and we got the opportunity to guide them. They practiced high jump on the ground.

 Also students were preparing for the 'vanchipaatu' song for the upcoming onam celebration. They were taught by a trained professional from another school. Their song was pleasant to hear.

On Saturday there was a rally conducted by the NCC cadets of the school in connection with the road safety awareness programme from school junction to Adoor. 

This week gave me a variety of experience. A lot of things are learnt from teachers of the school. Preparation of a programme, preparing question paper , supervising students on their exam were some among them....It was a nice week....
