Global Tiger Day is celebrated every year on July 29th as a way to raise awareness about this magnificent but endangered big cat. The day was founded in 2010, when the 13 tiger range countries came together to create Tx2 – the global goal to double the number of wild tigers by the year 2022. 

2016 marks the halfway point of this ambitious goal and this year has been one of the most united and exciting Global Tiger Days yet. WWF offices, organisations, celebrities, government officials, families, friends and individuals around the world came together in support of the #ThumbsUpForTigers campaign – showing the tiger range countries that there is worldwide support for tiger conservation efforts and the Tx2 goal.

India is home to over half of the world’s wild tigers – an estimated 2,226. Global Tiger Day was observed across all WWF tiger landscapes with much fervor and enthusiasm. The teams organized week-long celebrations to build awareness on tiger conservation and develop a stronger bond between wildlife and people. Thousands of local communities and young minds were encouraged to take up conservation issues and spare a thought for the ‘tiger’.

A total of almost 4,000 individuals, comprising people from all age groups, were reached out to during this year’s celebrations across Satpuda Maikal, Sundarbans, Terai Arc, Western Ghats Nilgiris and Western India Tiger Landscapes. The Thumbs Up For Tigers campaign was organised across all locations where showed their support and commitment for doubling the number of wild tigers.

The date July 29 is historic because on this day several countries signed the agreement in the Saint Petersburg Tiger Summit, which was held in Russia in 2010. The agreement was about raising awareness about the decreasing tiger population globally and preserving the natural habitat of tigers. Also, the representatives from various countries declared that the tiger-populated countries would thrive to double the tiger population by the end of the year 2022.

The theme for this international day is - “Their Survival is in our hands". Due to the outbreak of COVID-19, last year the celebration was held online. However, the event was observed with great enthusiasm worldwide. Since India has around 70% of the global tiger population, it plays a vital role in the annual celebration. With Tiger reserves in place and thriving efforts by the Environment department, India has successfully doubled the tiger population ahead of the 2022 target.

Innovative work last sem

Innovative work I planned a drama for the chemistry class as my innovative work. The concept I selected for the drama was ' ionic bond ' from the chapter ' Chemical bonding '. I clearly prepared the script and as per the script I selected some students from the class 9 C for the characters of the script. The students coperated well. They thoroughly studied the script and sometimes they clarified their doubt. There were 6 characters for the drama. Everyone performed very well. Each has their own role to do. I prepared some aids for the drama performance. They used it properly and carefully. The other students of the class kept quiet during the entire drama programme. School internship phase 2 Weekend Report 7 From August 15 to August 20 This week gave another kind of experience in my teaching practice life. Learning new things from students and teachers from day to life serves a great lesson. From these days I learned how to improve my teaching skills effectively. There was variety of programs on the school.  The national tricolour flag was hosted by the head mistress of the school. The flag hosting was followed by independence rally.
